Mumbai, Aryan Khan, who has been in custody in connection with the cruise drug bust case since October 2, and been lodged at the Arthur Road jail for the past over a week, finally got to meet his father, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, on Thursday, just ahead of his scheduled bail hearing at the Bombay High Court.
The 23-year-old was detained by the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) from a ship off the coast of Mumbai and formally arrested on October 3.
After the first few days in NCB custody, he was remanded to judicial custody and moved to the quarantine centre of the prison on October 8.
This was the first meeting between the father and the son. They spent around 20 minutes together.
Aryan earlier met his mother, Gauri, two weeks back. And spoke to both his parents through video conference on October 15, when he was shifted to normal barrack in the prison after his quarantine ended.
Thursday’s meeting took place following relaxation on restriction to visitors in jail by the state government to meet their relatives.
Aryan along with two other accused have filed bail application in the courts several times. After a local
court rejected their application, the NDPS special court also rejected their bail pleas. They have now approached the Bombay High Court.
