BJP leader Somaiya decides not to visit Santaji Ghorpade sugar factory

Kolhapur, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya has cancelled his proposed visit to Sarsenapati Santaji Ghorpade sugar factory premises in Kagal tehsil of this district on Tuesday.

He, however will be visiting Murgud police station to file an FIR against state Rural Development Minister Hasan Mushrif regarding an alleged scam.

Mr Somaiya will arrive at Tararani Chowk from Satara and after ‘darshan’ of Goddess Shree Mahalaxmi, he will leave for Murgud police station and then return to address a press conference in the city.

Meanwhile district superintendent of police Shailesh Balkvade has issued notices to all political parties including the BJP not to organise any agitation in support of or in opposition to Mr Somaiya.

Mr Balkvade also cancelled the prohibition order banning the entry of Mr Somaiya in the district after Nationalist Congress Party’s workers decided to call off their protest against the BJP leader which could have otherwise created a serious law and order problem.
