Congress says ‘unfortunate’ after centre denies compensation of Rs 4 lakh each for Covid victims

Ranchi, The Jharkhand Congress has termed the decision of centre of not providing compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to Covid victim as unfortunate.
Party spokesperson Alok Kumar Dubey said that due to negligence of the centre the pandemic spread across the country and instead of making due arrangements to tackle the situation the centre remained busy celebrating victory over Coronavirus while people kept dying over lack of proper healthcare facilities.
He said that senior leader Rahul Gandhi has correctly said that compensation will be a very small help but the Modi government is not ready to even do that.
Congress spokesperson Lal Kishore Nath Shahdeo said that Centre has filed an affidavit in the supreme expressing its inability to pay a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to kin of people who lost their lives due to Covid-19 over lack of funds.
On the other hand for the central vista project the centre has money to spend Rs 20,000 crore, Shahdeo said adding that people have the right to know as to where the money is being spent.
