Delhi to receive light rain today: IMD

New Delhi, The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a generally cloudy sky with light rain in Delhi and its adjoining areas on Monday, as the minimum temperature settled at 25 degrees Celsius, two degrees more than Sunday. 

The minimum temperature on Sunday was 23.4 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, and the maximum temperature was settled at 33.4 degrees Celsius.

The Maximum temperature in the city is likely to hover around 33 degrees celsius, said the IMD.

Delhi has witnessed rain since Saturday, leading to waterlogging and traffic jam situations across the city.

According to the weather bulletin on Monday morning, “light intensity rain/drizzle would occur over and adjoining areas of isolated places of North Delhi, Garhmukteshwar, Khekra, Bagpat, Narwana, Kaithal, Rohtak, Kharkhonda during next 2 hours.”

“Thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of Rohtak, Kurukshetra, Gohana, Karnal, Panipat, Rajaund, Assandh, Safidon, Jind, Hansi, Siwani, Meham, Tosham (Haryana) during next 2 hours,” it said in a tweet.

“Moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of Kurukshetra, Gohana, Hansi, Siwani, Meham, Tosham (Haryana) Sakoti Tanda, Hastinapur, Daurala (UP) during next 2 hours,” it predicted.

“The relative humidity at 0830 hrs stood at 92 per cent,” it said.  

Meanwhile, the air quality in Delhi remained in the satisfactory category on Monday morning.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) the Air quality index (AIQ) stood at 94.
