Lord Ganpati memories are associated with India’s freedom struggle: Dhumal

Hamirpur (HP), The memories of celebration of Lord Ganpati Utsav were associated with our freedom struggle, Senior BJP leader and former HP Chief Minister, PK Dhumal said here.

Bal Gangadhar Tilak was a great freedom struggle in our country. In the freedom struggle, he started a campaign to mobilize people through the Ganpati festival. Initially this festival was celebrated in a few places of Maharashtra but later on this festival has been celebrated in many states of North India through the whole of Maharashtra.  

Stating this here last evening, Senior BJP leader and former HP Chief Minister, PK Dhumal said that in Himachal too these days Ganesh festival is being celebrated with great reverence and faith. In district Hamirpur also this festival has been celebrated at two places in Hamirpur for the last 10 years and in Sujanpur for the last 4 years.

He was addressing people on occasion of the Ganpati festival in Hamirpur and called upon the people present on the occasion, the former Chief Minister said that Ganpati Bappa, whom we also consider by the name of Vighnaharta, to take his blessings but also keep in mind the Covid safety standards like wearing masks and social distancing.

Dhumal was happy to say that with the blessings of the elders and the cooperation of the people of the city, the youth of Hamirpur have done a great job of virtue by organizing the festival of Lord Ganpati in Hamirpur.

Dhumal said that usually such work was done by the elders, but in Hamirpur it was being organized continuously by the youth for the last 10 years which was really commendable.

Dhumal was in the town to take the blessings from Ganpati Bappa in the 10th Ganpati festival organized by Ganpati Bappa Morya Committee at Shiv Mandir in Hamirpur.

On reaching the Ganpati festival, the members of Ganpati Bappa Morya Committee, President-Vice President of Municipal Council Hamirpur and other councilors, including prominent people and BJP workers of Hamirpur city welcomed the former Chief Minister. Celebrated every year, this festival started on 10th September and will continue till 19th September.  

Taking blessings from Ganpati Bappa, the former Chief Minister wished for a disease-free India till the upcoming Ganpati festival next year. He expressed confidence that Lord Shri Gnash would remove the miseries of all and he will also end this epidemic prevailing in the society and will make the country happy and prosperous.
