Maha: Marathwada registers 140 COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

Aurangabad, The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 140 fresh COVID-19 cases and 2 positive patients succumbed during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Tuesday.

The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district was the worst-affected with 29 cases and 2 deaths, followed by Osmanabad with 51 cases, Beed had 48 cases, Latur had 13 cases, Jalna recorded 7 cases and Hingoli single case.

Nanded and Parbhani did not register any Covid positive cases.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 2,740 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,00,617.

The state also registered 27 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,38,169.

Meanwhile, 3,233 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 63,09,021 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.05 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

At present, there are 49,880 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
