NORTHERN RAILWAY SHIFTS RAILWAY LINES TO MAKE WAY FOR FREIGHT TRACKS.

New Delhi: Ambala Division of Northern Railway has permanently diverted a stretch of up and down rail lines to make way for laying of tracks by DFCCIL.

Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager Northern Railway has shared that a 2 Km stretch of rail line has been moved from its original layout to a new location between Mustafabad-Darazpur stations in Ambala-Saharanpur section. This is to facilitate DFCCIL to carry out its formation and track laying in its place. When complete the DFCCIL track will be used for movement of high speed freight trains on the Eastern dedicated freight corridor.

The new up and down cut connection lines have been constructed in a record time. Two new major bridges have also been constructed in this section. The line has been commissioned after a thorough safety inspection for movement of trains
